The Mexico Diet: The Ingredients

Image
It is now time to start, hopefully, the best diet yet: The Mexico Diet! I can't say that I am not looking forward to this one, because I really, really am. After 4 weeks of berries, fish and nuts, I'm ready to get some more vegetables into my diet. Though you might think I'm going to be sitting around eating nachos, tacos and bean dip, you'd be wrong. Don't forget that each of my diets is very meticulously thought out before diving into, i.e., I am only eating foods that grow naturally in Mexico. Therefore, you won't be seeing any pictures of Carne Asada or Steak Quesadillas during this month. The main reason I chose this diet was because of, well, avocados. They are most definitely my favorite food - natural food, that is - and I have often said that if I were on a deserted island and could only have one food for the rest of my life it would be....cheeseburgers. But if it had to be a natural food, avocados. Now, obviously, I did my research way ahead of time,

The Washington State Diet: Week 4

I made it to the final week of The Washington State diet, and let me tell you, it wasn't easy. There were moments where I really didn't want to do it any longer, because it became so monotonous and routine. The same things every single day, and over and over. I love berries and salmon  - so, so much - but I will be glad to say goodbye to them for a while. I tried to get creative as best I could, but unfortunately I was left with little imagination by the week's end, and my wallet cannot withstand some of the costs that are continually going upward, and it seems there are going to be more hikes upon the horizon. There were several items I just simply could not afford to buy as they are prohibitively expensive. As it was, just buying salmon and butternut squash were in the double digits and that was just a couple of items - I wish I were exaggerating. Having said all that, I did come up with a genius recipe (if I do say so myself), and I will gladly make it again in the fut

The Washington State Diet: Week 3

Week 3.... Yes, I am still on this diet, and I'm going a little bit insane with it. I was so happy that first day when I had that first berry. I was so happy when I got to have salmon for dinner. So happy. And now, I'm so blindingly bored with this diet, I can't wait until next week when I get to switch over to the next one. This diet is certainly healthy  - there is no denying that. However, there isn't a lot that I can work with. And given the fact that I've stopped eating Jerusalem Artichokes (they were kind of a natural laxative, and not particularly in a fun way), and I've stopped eating the Mustard Greens (they were okay, but not really my cup of tea), and I've stopped eating the Dandelion (I'm never eating that again)... I'm super limited at this point. And because things are so expensive these days, it's hard to justify spending $25 on 8 oz. of crab meat. So that's not happening. Nevertheless, I did manage to come up with a couple o

The Washington State Diet: Week 2

Week 2 was...well, I'll just say it: boring. I ate the same things it seemed day in day out...and while it may not have been the most exciting week of food, it is definitely paying off! I can't even believe how much smaller I am getting, and the fact that I came up with these diets is the most exciting part possibly. That and being able to fit into skirts and pants I wasn't able to even get past my ankle a few months ago. So, yes, I was right: fish and berries will make you thin. Even if you eat berries twice a day like I've been doing. It's still a great way to take off those pounds. All of the foods that I've been eating have been super light in calories and very rich in anti-oxidants. And aside from having a little food poising episode last night (we'll get to that soon enough) the diet has been going swimmingly well. We've already covered in my first entry regarding The Washington State Diet the items I've taken special liberties with by incorp
